The partnership between CKNA and Toyota Gazoo Racing North America GR Cup (GR Cup) makes a ton of sense. GR Cup provides a competitive and affordable race series, just like CKNA. Their series focuses on teams and drivers by offering world-class hospitality and engagement to all who participate and attend. Most importantly, the GR Cup was designed to celebrate car culture and motorsports by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts.
The GR Cup is more than just a racing series – it is a key part of Toyota’s customer racing programs in the U.S. Alongside the GR Cup, Toyota also operates the Toyota Performance Center (TPC), a proven program for developing professional drivers. Together, they highlight Toyota’s commitment to building talent and advancing motorsports in America.
So what does this mean for CKNA? At Grand Nationals 9, the top 3 finishers in Senior Light and Medium will be invited to the “GR Cup Racer Camp”, a 3-day training experience hosted by Toyota Racing Development to assess every aspect of the motorsports athlete. In the camp, racers will be tested in real-world settings for strength, reactions, heat, and stamina.
They’ll also get valuable insight into preparation, nutrition, mental wellness, and recovery. This all takes place at the Toyota Performance Center in Mooresville, NC being led by the same certified staff that work with Toyota and Lexus professional drivers every day. As part of the camp experience, drivers will receive pit passes to attend various racing series that Toyota supports including the World of Outlaws and Xtreme Outlaw Series. They will also receive data, information, and supplies from their week to take back with them to help perform better on and off the track.
We’re also excited to announce the return of Odenthal Racing products to the Program at Grand Nationals 9. ORP makes the absolute best engine mounts in karting, especially for 206 racing. They also have a unique design that allows many of their mounts to fit multiple chassis.
Hailing from Hayden, OH, Odenthal has been making precision karting products since 1992. They have become the standard barer for engine mounting solutions in nearly every category of kart racing. In recent years, they have also added very innovative camera mounting solutions allowing racers to capture every second of on-track action while protecting the expensive cameras from damage.
